Rich Mullins, a Christian singer / songwriter said the following regarding hypocrisy and hypocrites.
"I never understood why going to church made you a hypocrite either, because nobody goes to church because they're perfect. If you've got it all together, you don't need to go. You can go jogging with all the other perfect people on Sunday morning
Every time you go to church, you're confessing again to yourself, to your family, to the people you pass on the way there, to the people who will greet you there, that you don't have it all together. And that you need their support. You need their direction. You need some accountability, you need some help."
Christians who are attuned to the living God and to His Word are incredibly aware of the sin that still resides in them. Genuine Christians and Christianity recognizes that followers of Jesus Christ are still flawed. Christians are flawed followers of Christ committed to helping other flawed followers of Christ grow in and become more like the Flawless One - Jesus Christ.
We do not make excuses for our flaws / sins, we confess them and seek forgiveness from those whom we have hurt or offended . While being painfully aware of our flaws we do not judge / criticize others but humbly encourage one another to pursue the "calling to which we were called." That calling is to be more and more like Jesus Christ - the Flawless One. Join us in our pursuit of the Flawless One. That pursuit, of necessity, begins with the new birth in Christ Jesus. Have you been born again through faith in Christ Jesus?
